Familiar sports voice will broadcast featured sports events throughout the season

LakeChelanNow brings live action coverage

Dennis Rahm is a familiar voice in the sports broadcast world. For over 45 years he has provided play-by-play coverage of high school, collegiate and professional sports including over a dozen years as “Voice of the Chelan Goats”. His Chelan broadcast highlights included coverage of state championship wins for the boys in 1998 and the girls in 2004.

Rahm’s sports background also includes football and basketball play-by-play for Central Washington University in the late 80’s, and he served as the voice of the Yakima SunKings (Continental Basketball Association) during its inaugural two seasons and at the CBA All-Star Game.

Although he has a reputation for being respectful of the players, coaches, and officials — sharing each enthusiastic highlight — Rahm is equally aware of the mis-cues and errors on both ends of the court that also contribute to the ultimate win or loss. Listeners will appreciate his analytical anticipation and description of the action on the floor throughout the broadcast.

LakeChelanNow will broadcast a schedule of featured high school sports events throughout the winter season. Our initial basketball broadcast will be tonight’s double-header at CHS against visiting Cle Elum. The girls’ varsity contest starts at 5:45 p.m. with the boys’ varsity to follow.
