Chelan County/Lake Chelan Area: Two major bridges replaced; public access restored along Lakeshore Trail. Folks looking to enjoy the Lakeshore Trail or explore back-country areas near Lyman Lake can do so courtesy of two new bridges.

Working in partnership with Holden Village and Spring Trust for Trails, crews were able to fly and boat in materials to remote areas to reconstruct bridges that had washed out or were deemed unsafe in the summer of 2018.

“Strong partnerships were critical to the success of reopening these areas just one summer after they were damaged,” said Paul Willard, recreation manager for the Chelan Ranger District. “A big thank you to the folks who supported this work to restore safe access to public lands.”
