Following are a few of the recent articles highlighting Tsillan Cellars and the Lake Chelan AVA.

THE WINES

Wine Press Northwest Spring 2020 Edition:

In terms of his wine, Tsillan Cellars never has been better. Last fall, Jankelson and his team received six Platinum awards in the year-end judging of Pacific Northwest gold medal winning wines. That showing boosted the winery’s total to 23 career Platinums, and it prompted Wine Press Northwest magazine to name Tsillan Cellars the 2020 Washington Winery of the Year.”

Tsillan Cellars wines continued to garner accolades in the 2020 Washington State Wine Competition and 2020 Seattle Wine Awards accumulating fifteen Gold, Double Gold and Best in Class honors for their estate wines.

INSPIRED ARCHITECTURE

Washington Tasting Room Spring 2020 Edition proclaimed Tsillan Cellars tasting room as the #1 Mediterranean inspired tasting room in Washington State.

“La Dolce Vita on the Lake, Tsillan Cellars. “Natural materials, many imported from Italy, exquisite artistic details and Tuscan hues transport guests to an authentic Tuscan style retreat. With a 45 -foot tasting bar topped with Carrara Rosa marble and elegant carved stone fireplace, the warm space invites guests to appreciate the ambiance of an authentic Italian estate while savoring a glass from their selection of Italian style wines such as Pinot Grigio, Barbera and Sangiovese.”

WORLD CLASS WINE CLUB

Washington Tasting Room Fall 2020 Edition featured the Tsillan Cellars Wine Club in an article entitled Welcome to the Wine Club.

“Developing a loyal wine club membership has been the number one focus for our 100% DTC (direct -to- consumer) business model, says Dr. Bob Jankelson, owner of one of the founding wineries in the Lake Chelan area, Tsillan Cellars…. “The wine club has been a godsend during the difficult past months,” admits Jankelson. “We take exceptional care of our wine club members and they take exceptional care of Tsillan Cellars and my staff.”

Wine Club managers Carrie McGuinn and Cassy Schluneger, along with a knowledgeable staff, ensure that their club of approximately 2500 members feel like a part of an extended family. Clearly the approach is working because nearly 1000 members have been in the wine club for five or more years with an annual attrition rate of four percent.”

While 2020 has been a trying time in the hospitality business Tsillan Cellars owner, Bob Jankelson, says that since reopening in June, wine sales are setting all-time records as tourists and wine lovers discover the quality of Chelan wines and marvel at the natural beauty of the Lake Chelan valley. Instead of visiting Napa or distant wine regions in Europe, wine tourists are traveling to Lake Chelan for memorable wine experiences.
