Contrary to some rumors floating around social media, the 33rd annual Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade is a go for this Saturday beginning at 12-noon in downtown Chelan. Parade goers will likely be treated to Irish music, floats, bikes, trikes, motorcycles, horses, fire trucks, men in kilts, and of course lots of kids and dogs.

Pat Kelly dispelled social media rumors that the parade had been cancelled and said the event will go on regardless of the weather even if it snows!

Regarding health concerns in the wake of coronavirus safeguards, Kelly encourages those who may have cold or flu symptoms to avoid the parade. An option for those who can’t attend the parade in person is to view the event on the LakeChelanNow facebook page. And watch for LakeChelanNow coverage and photo galleries after the event as well.

As in previous years, the Top Dog Parade will be preceded by the Shamrock Shuffle Fun Run presented by the Lake Chelan Lions Club. The Shuffle will start at 9:30 at Riverwalk Park with registration opening at 8:30.

Following the parade, St. Patty’s day party events will take place at Stormy Mountain Brewing and Campbell’s Resort.
