Governor Inslee announced the attraction will face penalties

On Thursday the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries paid a visit to Slidewaters and presented the owners of the waterpark with an order and notice of immediate restraint to close operations.

Governor Jay Inslee said Slidewaters would be penalized for failing to comply with state law. Earlier in the week a federal judge dismissed the waterparks request for an injunction against the State COVID-19 emergency order closing businesses.

Slidewaters is open today and ownership is expected to issue a news release later today that will outline their plans going forward.

In a related matter, a gofundme campaign has been started by local community members on behalf of Slidewaters. It had generated over $10K in donations at the time of this publication.
