WSDOT North Central Region Weekly Construction Update & Travel Advisory

On Wednesday (10/23), WSDOT and Washington State Parks are partnering on an open house to share a night of discussion regarding park improvements and active transportation improvement in the region.

Active projects for the week of October 21 – 25:

US 2 Washout Repair (East Wenatchee)
County: Douglas  Highway: US 2 Region: North Central
Location: MP 128.6 (North of junction with SR 28)
Description:  A WSDOT maintenance crew will repair wash out and fix curbing behind the guardrail on US 2/97 just north of Blue Rock Estates Drive.
Work schedule: Wednesday only from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. expect flagger controlled traffic with short delays.  Work is weather dependent.

SR 17 Intersection Improvements #9454 (Moses Lake)
County: Grant  Highway: SR 17 Region: North Central
Location: MP 51-54 (Moses Lake)
Description:  Neppell Electrical is the contractor for this project that will install flashing warning beacons at six intersections on SR 17 in Moses Lake between the eastbound I-90 off ramp and Broadway Ave.  Intersections include eastbound I-90 off ramp at SR 17, SR 17/Kittelson Rd., SR 17/Yonezawa Blvd., SR 17/Nelson Rd., SR 17/E. Wheeler Rd., and SR 17/Broadway Ave.
Work schedule: Monday – Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. expect, shoulder closures and lane closures on SR 17 at intersections between the I-90 eastbound off ramp to Broadway Ave. where the contractor is installing electrical conduit and foundations for the new “Prepare To Stop When Flashing” alert systems.

SR 28/13th Avenue Roundabout (City of Quincy)
County: Grant   Highway: SR 28  Region: North Central
Location: SR 28 MP 28 (intersection with 13th Avenue)
Description:  The City of Quincy has contracted Tommer Construction to build a roundabout at the intersection of SR 28 and 13th Avenue.
Work schedule: Tuesday night beginning at 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday morning, expect flagger controlled traffic with delays up to 10 minutes at the roundabout where the contractor is installing pavement markings.  Work is weather dependent.

SR 28 Ephrata  to Soap Lake Paving and ADA Compliance #9367
County: Grant  Highway: SR 28  Region: North Central
Location: MP 44.5-53.0  (Ephrata to Soap Lake)
Description: In this $3.6 million project, Columbia Asphalt and Ready Mix crews are lowering utilities and updating deficient sidewalk curb ramps to meet ADA standards.
Work schedule: In Ephrata, on Monday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. expect flagger controlled traffic with some delays where the contractor is performing stripe removal and utility adjustments.

SR 971 Hazard Tree Removal (Chelan)
County: Chelan  Highway: SR 971 Region: North Central
Location: MP 12.6 (west of junction with US 97A)
Description:  A WSDOT maintenance crew will remove a hazard tree on SR 971 (S. Lakeshore Rd.) betweem Bear Mountain Rd. and Scenic Ranch Ln.
Work schedule: Monday only from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. expect flagger controlled traffic with short delays.
