Help recognize and honor Cancer Heroes during this inaugural event

information released

There are only a few weeks left to nominate a local hero for Wellness Place’s inaugural NCW Cancer Heroes event! The deadline for nominations is Friday, August 1, and community members across North Central Washington are encouraged to recognize someone who made a meaningful impact in a cancer journey.

NCW Cancer Heroes is a red-carpet awards event held on Saturday, September 6 at the Wenatchee Convention Center. This elegant evening honors the local cancer community who inspire hope and strength, thanks to presenting sponsors Confluence Health and Wenatchee Valley Medical Group. Guests will enjoy a red-carpet welcome, dinner and drinks, an inspiring awards ceremony, live performances, and an after-party with dancing.

“We’ve already received some incredible stories,” said Marissa Collins, Executive Director of Wellness Place. “But we know there are more cancer heroes out there who deserve to be seen, celebrated, and honored — and we don’t want anyone to miss the chance to be part of this special night.”

A Cancer Hero may be a cancer warrior, survivor, or champion – such as caregivers, providers, or supporters. They may be an individual, group of people, or business that can be honored in person or in tribute. A Cancer Hero may reside in North Central Washington or has impacted someone in North Central Washington.

Every nomination is $120 and includes 1 complimentary ticket to the event, public recognition, and an award. Every nominee will be honored!

Nominations must be submitted online at bit.ly/nominate-ncwch-2025 by August 1.

Proceeds from this event help raise critical funds for Wellness Place’s free programs that individuals and families in our region depend on to navigate a cancer diagnosis.

This event is made possible by our generous sponsors: Confluence Health & Wenatchee Valley Medical Group, Numerica Credit Union, Cascade Autocenter, Munchen Haus, Wheatland Bank, Arseneault Automation, Goodfellow Bros, Cascadian Plastic Surgery, Gann Construction, Kenady Real Estate Group, JBe Marketing, Feathers & Flowers, and JP Portrait Studio.
