They also interview Commissioner of Public Lands, Hilary Franz, from Washington D.C. where she is lobbying for additional federal wildland fire fighting support.

This week on Making Waves, Steve and Dennis continue to recap the recent 70th Anniversary celebration of Lake Chelan Community Hospital, including visits with Alice Killian, who heads up the “Comforters” program and former Clinic Administrator Bob Gervais.

Dennis also gives a rundown on last weekend’s State Volleyball Tournament that featured appearances by the Chelan and Manson teams.

Lake Chelan Community Hospital recently had a 70th Anniversary Celebration. This week on Making Waves, Dennis and Steve talk about the event and visit with long-time hospital foundation member, Emmet Aston.

In addition, Steve shares some stories about Emmet that you may not have known. And you’ll also hear about Steve’s recent trips, that included a cruise to Quebec and a few days in the big apple.

Episode 29: November 1, 2018

This week on Making Waves we talk with Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett and Sargent Chris Foreman as the two recently visited Chelan for a community chat and coffee event at the Vogue. This was the first time the Sheriff’s Department has tried this type of community outreach in Chelan and according to Sheriff Burnett there will likely be more to come. Items of discussion included Marine Patrol enforcement and the local fire season.

Lake Chelan Community Hospital received news this week that a long awaited USDA loan to help pay for construction of a new hospital has been approved. This week Making Waves welcomes Hospital Board Chair Mary Signorelli who details what’s next for the hospital and gives an update on the search for a new Hospital CEO.

Making Waves dives into the Holden Mine Remediation. Phase 1 of the project has been completed at an estimated cost of $500 million. Dennis offers his perspective from a recent tour of the site while Steve talks about his hands-on experience working on the project for several years.
