Chelan’s Lexie Gleasman Signs with Montana

by Dennis Rahm

It was announced late last week that Chelan volleyball player Lexie Gleasman has signed to attend college and play volleyball for the University of Montana next year. Gleasman, the daughter of Randy and Lisa Gleasman, is a multi-sport athlete at Chelan participating in volleyball, basketball and softball. She has earned All-League honors in all of those sports and this past season was selected at the Caribou Trail League Volleyball Player of the Year.

Montana Grizzlies Head Coach Allison Lawrence said of Gleasman, “she’s got size, she’s got an arm, and what I love about her is where she comes from. She has a different background that will provide a different type of voice and leadership for our team.”

Gleasman recently competed at the 1A State Volleyball Tourney in Yakima where the Lady Goats earned a seventh-place trophy marking the third consecutive year Chelan trophied at state. Next up for Gleasman will be playing for the Chelan basketball team as their season gets underway with the jamboree on Tuesday.
