Bond would include improvements to existing facilities and a new high school

Information submitted by the Citizens Campaign Committee

The community is invited to attend one of the scheduled school district informational meetings to learn more about the upcoming bond election. Tonight’s meeting (March 11) includes a tamale feed and community conversation at the high school starting at 6:00 p.m.

Additional open house meetings are scheduled for subsequent Mondays (March 18 and March 25) at 6:30 p.m. at the Lake Chelan Chamber office.

In April, voters in the Lake Chelan School District will be asked to decide on a Capital Projects bond that would build a new high school, reconfigure grade levels to alleviate overcrowding and make improvements to Morgan Owings Elementary (MOE), as well as to the current middle-high school and Sargent Field.

Ballots will be mailed April 5th and are due back by April 23rd at 8:00 p.m.

The School District has also produced an 8-page bond brochure, which includes a break down of the project costs and tax impacts. It is available online
