“Slow and low” flying helicopters may be spotted throughout Chelan County

Residents may see a helicopter flying low and slowly over high-voltage power lines starting Monday, June 1, depending on weather conditions. Chelan PUD is conducting a routine, annual inspection over 300 miles of transmission lines.

On Monday, crews plan to fly from Cashmere to Stevens Pass. On Tuesday, the crew will inspect lines in Wenatchee, Malaga, Entiat, Chelan and Manson.
