Stamps and Boyd both spin no-hitters

Chelan baseball improved to 5-1 on the season with a Saturday sweep of Quincy in a double-header played at Mountain Goat Field. Fans of Chelan were treated to a very rare event in baseball as Goat pitching fashioned back-to-back no-hitters by Reed Stamps and Braden Boyd, with Boyd’s being a perfect game.

  • Saturday saw the Goats take the field, hosting the Quincy Jack rabbits, winning both games by the scores of 12-1 and 18-0.
  • In the opener, junior Reed Stamps tossed the Goats 3rd no hitter of the season, striking out 7. The offense was lead by Drake Bird, Reed Stamps, and Gunner Glassman with 2 hits apiece.
  • In the second game, the Goats sent sophomore Braiden Boyd to the mound. Boyd responded with an incredible no hitter, perfect game, striking out 10 with no walks. The result was the Goats 4th no hitter in 4 CTL games. Colton Funk, Quin McClaren, and Cory Schramm,each had 2 hits in the game.
Next Up: 4A Moses Lake visits Mountain Goat Field on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 4:30.
