Public comment is encouraged

The proposed weekend closure of two city parks – Don Morse and Lakeside Park – will be a topic of discussion at the Tuesday night regularly scheduled meeting of the Chelan City Council. Due to concerns over COVID-19 and the overcrowded conditions at the two popular parks, Mayor Bob Goedde announced last week the city will look at closing the facilities on Saturdays and Sundays. The Mayor has come out in favor of the idea and now the city council members will have their opportunity to weigh in on the topic.

The concept has generated a great deal of discussion on social media. During the meeting, Mayor Goedde and the City Council will examine public comment received through official communication channels. Included in the discussion on potential park closures will be possible solutions for parking enforcement.

Here is the link to the agenda. The community is encouraged to provide input by emailing: publiccomments@cityofchelan.us

The City Council meeting will be broadcast via live audio feed on LakeChelanNow.com
