Xitali Cruz Receives NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing

CHS junior Xitlali Cruz has received the National NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing. 40 winners and 360 honorable mentions were selected from more than 4,700 amazing, talented young women.

The award, sponsored by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and companies throughout the country, recognizes high school women for their computing-related achievements and interests as part of an effort to encourage more young women to choose careers in technology.

Thanks to the generous support of National Sponsor Bank of America, each of the 40 national award winners receive various prizes, cash, and a trip to Bank of America headquarters on March 6-8, 2020 for a celebration.

The National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is a non-profit community of universities, companies, non-profits, and government organizations nationwide working to increase women’s participation in computing and technology.
