Five candidates who were interested in filling the unexpired term of former Councilman Ray Dobbs participated in a Question and Answer session during the first part of the Tuesday afternoon City Council Workshop.

After a 20-minute Executive Session, the Council reconvened the workshop and made the announcement that Chris Baker had been appointed to serve the Position #3 slot on the Council. Other candidates for the position included Todd Higley, Dan Hodge, David Rogge and Dustin Thomas.

Immediately after the appointment was announced, Baker was administered the oath of office and participated in the remainder of the workshop. Baker is a former Eagle Scout who grew up in Wenatchee and moved to Chelan full time in 2017. He has been a teacher, coach and currently is an owner of a house painting business and a homewatch business.

Baker’s entire presentation at the workshop can be heard in the audio segment below.

Baker, who is a member of the Parks Board, will have to surrender that position now that he is serving on Council. His term representing Position 3 on the City Council will run through the end of next year.
