Chelan Cross Country Update

On Saturday, the Chelan Cross Country team traveled to Lake View Golf Course in Soap Lake for the Ephrata Invitational. Both teams represented themselves well.

Once again Teegan Sliva and Mireya Garibay placed top two for the team but trading places as the number one runner. Silva had a strong performance earning fourth place. Garbay place eighth two seconds ahead of Cashmere’s 12th place State finisher from last year. Bella Gatzemeier continues to run consistently as our number three runner placing nineteenth. Ella Polley (23rd) and Lana Feilding (26th), in her first meet of the season, rounded off the top five. Savannah Gresham earned a personal record and continues to improve.

On the boys’ side, Cray Silva continues to earn the top spot for the Goats. In a tough field with the defending state champion, Sliva earned twelfth. Tucker Fogelson (17th) and Luke Simmons (18th) both raced exceptionally well. David Payan (32nd), Elijah Strode (33rd), and Ringo Renteria (50th) earned points for the varsity team.

Athletes of the week are Teegan Silva for her outstanding race and Luke Simmons who has shown amazing improvement. The team travels to Wenatchee at Walla Walla Park this Saturday, March 13th. Boys Varsity runs at 11:00 AM, Girls at 11:45, and Boys JV at 12:30.
