Washington’s longest continually family-owned resort marks milestone anniversary

Campbell’s Resort on Lake Chelan, a cherished Northwest destination and cornerstone of the Chelan community, is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. Established in 1901, Campbell’s Resort has remained family-owned and operated by the Campbell family for five generations, making it one of Washington State’s most enduring hospitality landmarks.
What began as a modest 16-room lakeside inn serving early travelers to the Chelan Valley has evolved into a full-service, year-round resort featuring 170 guest rooms, a renowned restaurant, full-service conference facility, and more than 1,800 feet of private sandy beach waterfront. Despite the growth and modernization through each generation, Campbell’s Resort has retained its signature blend of family hospitality, community connection, and small-town charm.
“Reaching 125 years is rare in our industry and a real celebration of the generations of families who have made memories on Lake Chelan,” said Eric Campbell, co-owner of Campbell’s Resort. “Our commitment has always been to preserve the legacy of those that came before us while continuing to evolve for the generations ahead.”
Today, the resort is managed by Eric and Tom Campbell, members of the fifth generation of the Campbell family, who carry forward the values instilled by their great-great-grandparents, Clinton Cyrus and Caroline Campbell, who first opened the doors in 1901.
Over the years, Campbell’s Resort has played host to countless family vacations, weddings, conferences, and community events, becoming a central gathering place for locals and visitors alike. To commemorate its 125th anniversary, the resort will host a series of special events and promotions throughout the year.
