Coaches nominate individuals for outstanding effort and participation. CHS is pleased to recognize this week’s Chelan Student-Athletes of the Week, and present the nomination write-up from their coaches.
Each student-athlete winner will be given a Lakeview Drive-In gift card. We appreciate the generosity of Michael and Jamie Mack and the Lakeview Drive-In for their support of the Lake Chelan School District and Chelan Athletics.
Congrats to our Student-Athletes of the week. Thanks to all of you, for all your support, and we look forward to seeing everyone this week supporting Chelan Athletics.
GO PIRATES/GO GOATS!
Kassidy Wilfong- 7th grade Volleyball
Kassidy is a dedicated player, not only to herself but to her teammates! Daily she helps get the gym set up for practice, and she is usually the first one ready to go and the last one to leave. She sets goals for herself and makes it obvious that she wants to meet these goals. She works hard & creates an atmosphere so those around her want to work hard too. She has become an amazing server, team leader, and it extremely coachable and without a doubt, strives to be a better athlete every day. This is why we nominated her for middle school athlete of the week! – Coach Gleasman, Coach Spanjer and Coach Christopherson
Johnny Ayala – Football
On Defense, Johnny Ayala had 2 interceptions and 4 tackles as a leader of a defense that allowed only 28 total yards to Granger. On offense, he stepped in for our starting running back and rushed for 140 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns. Johnny is our kind of GOAT who gets it done in practice, on the field, and in the weight room. – Coach Domser

Kendra Sprecher – Cheer
Kendra has come into the cheer season with no experience of stunting. Now, she has become one of our strongest bases. No matter who she is throwing into the air, that person never touches the ground. She has the natural instinct to move herself underneath the person cradling or falling. She sacrifices herself every time she puts someone in the air to guarantee they are safe coming down. – Coach Hanson
Giselle Lara – Soccer
Giselle had been working hard all season and it’s paying off! Playing at defensive center mid, Giselle controls the ball in the back third and assists with transitions from defense to offense. She played a tough game against Wapato Saturday, going into tackles aggressively and coming out with possession. We’re excited to see what else she brings the rest of the season! – Coach Williams
