Manson Will Face Liberty Christian on Friday
Information submitted by Coach Johanson
Manson Trojans were able to obtain another strong win against Liberty Bell on Friday the 26th.
Manson started off cruising to a 22-6 lead in the first half. After the half the Trojans left no doubt and scored 28 points to win the game 50-14. The defense was solid against the run all night. The only answer Liberty Bell had were a couple of big passing plays. “All the players and coaches were pretty pumped for this game. We came out focused and then had a lot of fun!,” said Coach Johanson.
Running back Marco Sanchez was in the zone tonight. He started the game off with an interception returned for a TD to open the scoring. He went on to rush for 140 yards and 2 TDs as well as catch another 43 yard screen pass for a TD. He finished the night with a total of 4 touchdowns. “Marco took off like a rocket tonight. We expressed that we need to start running harder, and he did not disappoint. I’m very proud of how all the backs played,” said Coach Johanson.
Overall it was a great night, but now the Trojans need to focus for their playoff game vs. Liberty Christian next Friday night. Winner moves on to State and loser is done for the year. “I think we are trending up at the right time and it’s always better to play your best football towards the end of the season,” Coach Johanson.
