Pat Kelly Explains how the Top Dog Parade Got Started
Dennis Rahm interviews Pat Kelly in 2007 about his favorite local event
It was back in March of 1987, as best as anyone can remember, that some of the employees of the Lake Chelan Hospital got together to stage an impromptu St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Little did they know those humble beginnings would blossom into one of the favorite and most popular annual events in Chelan. That small first year parade would evolve into what is known today as the Wayne Kelly Memorial Top Dog Parade.
No one is better versed in the history of this parade than Pat Kelly.
Let’s go back to an interview Dennis Rahm conducted in 2007, when Kelly talked in detail about how the parade came about.
