Manson Trojans Erupt with Offense Against Pateros

The Trojans took the quick trip into Pateros for a single-header on Thursday, April 19th, to take on the Billygoats in a non-league contest. Final Score: Manson 14 – Pateros 4

Avery Thompson was the starting pitcher and Caden Beazley was the starting catcher for the Trojans. Thompson had a solid outing and earned the complete game win while pitching 5 innings, giving up 3 hits, walking 1, using an efficient 80 pitches, and striking out 9 Billygoats.

Offensively, the Trojans erupted for 14 runs on 13 hits. The Trojans were lead by Parker Schoenwald who went 3-3 with a double and 2 RBI’s. Marcus Bernardo went 2-4 and added a double with 4 RBI’s. Freshman Cody Fitzpatrick recorded his first hit of the season with a sharp hit ball to right field. Trojans with hits were: Jose Pascasio (2), Parker Schoenwald (3), Avery Thompson (2), Marcus Bernardo (2), Zach Serafini, Caden Beazley, Conner Clausen, Zach Serafini, Bryan Bernardo, Cody Fitzpatrick.

The Trojans defense played strong after recovering from a few early costly errors.

The game’s web gem came in the 4th inning when Trojan 3rd baseman Parker Schoenwald snagged a blistering line drive for an out, and made a strong throw to second base to double-up a Billygoat runner who failed to tag up at second base.

Manson Trojan Baseball will hold their annual baseball camp next Wednesday, April 25th at Singleton Park from 3:45-5:15pm for 3rd through 6th grade boys and girls.

The camp is free and no pre-registration is needed. The camp will focus on baseball fundamentals and skill development. Attendees will be entered to win a new baseball bat and will receive a Manson Trojan Baseball tee-shirt.
