City of Chelan and Chelan County Both Declare a State of Emergency

Information released by City of Chelan and Chelan County

Wade Farris, Chelan City Administrator announced today that one of the two confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Chelan County is a Chelan resident.

In light of this, Mayor Bob Goedde has declared a State of Emergency and City Hall will be closed to all visitors, effective noon today.  However, City employees will still report to work and continue to keep the City running.

Earlier this morning, the Chelan County Board of Commissioners announced they signed an Emergency Declaration Resolution in regards to the COVID-19 virus.

At that time, Chelan County did not have a confirmed case of the COVID 19 virus, but decided that precautionary measures put in place by the Governor and the Federal Government have impacted our community.  By signing this resolution local businesses and non-profits will now have access to potential State and Federal assistance.

Since then, two confirmed cases have been identified in Chelan County, including a Chelan resident.

LCN will continue to update their Coronavirus resource page as information becomes available.
