Participants and Spectators Enjoy the 3rd Annual Windermere SUP Cup

Sunny skies and gentle breezes met the competitors during the 3rd Annual Windermere SUP Cup (Stand Up Paddleboard Cup) on Saturday, August 4th.
This event featured races that ranged from a simple triangle in the normally placid Chelan River to a 14-mile water trail on often boisterous Lake Chelan. Kids (in the feature photo above), beginners and intermediate paddleboarders, as well as intense athletes all found a race to reflect their skill levels.
The SUP Cup is a non-profit philanthropic event. It is sponsored by Windermere Lake Chelan, while Chelan Rotary Club took charge of the BBQ and Beer Garden. Proceeds from this event benefit the Lake Chelan Volunteer Fire District #7.
