Tucker Cool is a fourth-generation rodeo cowboy.  In fact, his great-grandfather put on the very first Lake Chelan Rodeo 97 years ago, in 1921, on the beach at what is now Don Morse Park. Tucker’s rodeo announcing career started while he was still attending Chelan High School, when he announced the Chelan Junior Rodeo. Now he is one of the most sought-after voices in the Northwest rodeo industry.

Cool’s quick wit, coupled with his cowboy knowledge, make him an engaging rodeo announcer. He has experience working both the rough-stock and timed event ends of the arena at the Junior, High School, College, and Professional ranks. He has also been the “Man in the Can,” darting around the arena and scaling fences while working as a rodeo clown.  He currently serves on the Professional Western Rodeo Association Board of Directors, so Cool really knows the rodeo business from top to bottom.

His dad, Rod Cool, who is no stranger to the rodeo scene himself, tells LakeChelanNow, “We are proud to bring Tucker back to his hometown and know you’ll be entertained by his stories and his own unique way of bringing rodeo to you.”

Tucker Cool’s ties to Lake Chelan and the agricultural industry run deep. He served as the Chelan FFA President, District VII President and Washington State FFA President, and is currently a lifetime member of the Chelan FFA Alumni.  He works full time in the agriculture industry as an Animal Nutritional Consultant for Cenex Harvest States, and continues to work with FFA members around the Northwest as a livestock judge at fairs. Tucker now lives in Davenport, WA with his wife Haley, where they raise cows and his two kids, Waylon and Bryndle.

The Lake Chelan Rodeo will be held August 3 and 4 at the Chelan Rodeo Grounds in Union Valley. Events will include bull riding, cowgirl’s barrel racing and steer wrestling, among many others.
