Bank President and CEO, Charlie Guildner, Provides Update

By Dennis Rahm

The last remnants of a downtown Chelan building were toppled early Wednesday morning as demolition of the structure at 114 North Emerson Street enters the final phase. The last exterior wall was knocked down and now cleanup of debris will continue for the next few days.

The building, which has housed a number of different businesses over the years, was last operated as Outlaw BBQ and Steak House. The property is owned by North Cascades Bank, a division of Glacier Bank, and in the short term will be used as a parking lot for bank employees until the final plans for future bank expansion are completed.

Bank President and CEO Charlie Guildner says architect Kelly Smith of Dykeman and Associates in Everett is already working on a development plan for the property with the hope that work will begin in the next 12 months on a new or significantly remodeled existing facility. Guildner tells LakeChelanNow more of what’s ahead on the project.

North Cascades Bank in Chelan currently has 35 full time employees. The main bank building at 220 Johnson Avenue was constructed in 1986. The plan for updated facilities will look ten years into the future to address a level of growth that could accommodate up to 50 full time employees.
