Miller’s Lake Chelan Auto Museum Opens to the Public

by Dennis Rahm

A Chelan man’s lifelong passion for automobiles and collectibles has come full circle with the opening this week of Miller’s Lake Chelan Auto Museum.

Starting this Thursday, June 21 and continuing through September, the museum will be open Thursday through Saturday from noon to 3:00 p.m. by donation only.

Leo Miller says his museum will utilize three buildings to showcase more than 50 vehicles. That collection includes his personal favorite, a 1955 Pontiac hardtop (photo above), as well as bikes, a boat and even an airplane seized in a drug raid in British Columbia.

Appreciative of he and wife Polly’s many years of living and working in the Lake Chelan Valley, Miller says the museum has been established to be a long-time attraction for residents and visitors to enjoy.

An outstanding collection of vintage items adds to the atmosphere in the museums main building featuring neon signs, automotive products, gas pumps, pinball machines and other memorabilia.

The facility will be operated in association with the Lake Chelan Car Club and is located at 20 Blue Water Lane about a mile and a half from downtown Chelan along the Chelan Falls Hwy.
