Second year of a Hybrid event

by Dennis Rahm

The situation with COVID is once again making an impact on the annual Lake Chelan Winterfest celebration taking place over the next two weekends. Despite the challenges of a hybrid version of the event, there will still be a number of activities to enjoy including fireworks, polar bear plunges, live music, ice sculptures and more.

Chelan activities kick off this Friday at 11am with ice sculptor tours and a scavenger hunt. The fun picks up on Saturday with apple bin rides, live music at the corner of Woodin and Emerson, a polar bear plunge and bonfire at Don Morse Park and the traditional Saturday night fireworks show at 6:30pm.

2022 Winterfest buttons are available for purchase at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and provide discounts at various retailers, restaurants and wineries throughout the valley.

Winterfest fun shifts to Manson next weekend with activities to include a mitten walk, wine barrel rides, ice sculpting, and another polar bear plunge and fireworks show from Manson Bay Park. For a full list of Winterfest events and activities, visit LakeChelanWinterfest.com.
