Snow to accumulate in Cascade foothills, Uplake Chelan and over mountain passes

Despite a few warmer, sunnier days, winter has not completed her hold on North Central Washington.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Thursday evening until late afternoon on Saturday. Heavy snow will be possible at times over the Cascade crest, including Stevens Pass.  Winter travel conditions with heavy wet snow possible.

* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 18 and 24 inches, with 6 to 12 inches anticipated for Holden Village and Stehekin. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE…Stevens Pass and Cascade Crest.

* WHEN…From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM PST Saturday.

* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. The conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.
