Chelan Valley Housing Trust’s plan to build eight attainable homes this year was given a big boost at a recent fundraiser hosted by The Landing in Chelan.

The sold out, black-tie event celebrated  the first release of Navarre Coulee Vineyards and Tipsy Canyon Winery’s 2020 Neighbors Blend. This varietal blend from the two vineyards benefits the Housing Trust while underscoring the importance of being part of something larger than ourselves. The sixty attendees enjoyed a 4-course paired dinner hosted by The Landing, a silent auction and live music.

“We’re over the moon at this kind of community support,” gushed Rachael Goldie, Executive Director for the Housing Trust. “The money raised here will go a long way in advancing our plans this year to bring eight more attainable homes to essential community members.”

Goldie reports the two projects in the works for CVHT in 2023 are a two single-home development on Iowa Street in south Chelan and a six-unit townhome project at the corner of East Nixon Avenue and North Emerson Street for a total of 8 homes in 2023.

With development costs high, this jumpstart was certainly welcomed. Iowa Street homes will require an additional $85,000 by year-end 2023 and Nixon Street Homes will require $600,000 to complete and sell homes at rates attainable to buyers. With a total of $685,000 to be raised in 2023, the Trust is very grateful for opportunities such as these to make these homes a reality.

Goldie credited much of the evening’s fundraising success to Charlie and Debbie Guildner, and Karen Feek for their extraordinary philanthropy. She also expressed gratitude to the supporters who donated the auction items and those who won. “As a first-ever fundraising auction for the Housing Trust, we are so grateful to everyone that came together to make this such a success.”  She added, “Each $100,000 raised makes the purchase price of at least one home attainable to current buyers as well as future generations of homeowners.”
