Firefighters initially hindered by steep terrain

Orondo Fire responded just before 6 am Saturday morning to a wildland fire at Daroga Park.
The fire was burning in building debris, sage and grass. The efforts were hindered by steep hillsides and difficult access to the fire due to sandy ground. The fire was extinguished prior to the high winds later in the day.
Firefighters were able to contain the fire to seven acres. There was not any property damage or injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were 14 firefighters on scene with eight fire apparatus.
