Pioneer Fire status updated by Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) – Sunday morning, June 9
The fire was first reported yesterday (Saturday, June 8) at about 12:30 pm and is burning up lake on the eastern shore. Yesterday DNR assigned a crew that arrived via boat and also had four helicopters working the fire. It’s currently estimated at 300 acres, and we will continue to work today with additional air and ground resources.
The cause is currently undetermined and under investigation.
The following photos were submitted by Linda Candler. They were taken while boating uplake on Saturday about 2:00 p.m. a little over an hour after the fire was reported.
Trail Closure
The Lakeshore Trail is closed from Prince Creek north to Moore Point, and we ask all recreational users to avoid the area. The Lady of the Lake is aware of the closures.
Additional updates will be provided as new information is available.
