Volunteer now for the Annual Beebe Springs Spring Work Party!

The annual work party, coordinated by the Department of Fish and Wildlife Volunteer Program / Chelan Wildlife Area Spring Maintenance, is scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2025 – 9:00 AM to 2:05 PM

Description:

Help to clear trails and viewpoints at Beebe Springs Wildlife Area of invasive Himalayan blackberry. Help prune and clear invasive blackberry along trails, viewpoints, and artwork, clear and stabilize rock steps, and remove weeds at the Beebe Springs Unit, Chelan Wildlife Area.

Volunteers are welcome to bring their own tools: loppers, clippers, work gloves, etc (but keep track of your own tools). I also recommend bringing water and a snack.

Be aware that when working with blackberry, work pants and gloves are advised. There will be options for other projects if unable to work on clearing blackberry and hopefully we can find something for everyone to do within their comfort level.

WDFW has new rules regarding working around water, and all participants who will be working within a body’s length of water will be required to wear a lifejacket. Volunteer orientation and PFD training will occur at 9. I encourage you to take both these trainings through this portal beforehand.

Sign up as a volunteer by clicking on cervistech.com and follow the instructions.
