Suspected shooter in custody
information released
On April 18, 2025, at 10:09 PM, East Wenatchee police officers responded to a report of a possible shooting in the vicinity of 9th Street NE and North Baker.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a 48-year-old Hispanic male with a gunshot wound to his chest. Life-saving measures were initiated and continued until emergency medical services (EMS) arrived on the scene.
Witnesses indicated that the victim’s neighbor, a 44-year-old Hispanic male, was the suspected shooter and was still in the area. Additional assistance was requested, prompting the arrival of both the Douglas and Chelan County Sheriff’s Offices, as well as Wenatchee Police and the Washington State Patrol. The suspect was located and detained without incident and has since been booked into Chelan County Regional Jail.
Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries, and his family has requested that his name be withheld for the time being. The investigation is ongoing, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
