Injuries send one person to hospital by ambulance and one by helicopter

Orondo Fire responded Friday afternoon at 5:20 pm to the report of a two-vehicle accident three miles on US 97 three miles north of Orondo. On arrival firefighters found two vehicles blocking the highway with severe damage.
There were five people in the vehicles, all of whom received care at the scene. Two received lifesaving treatment with one transported by ambulance and one flown to the trauma center by helicopter.
Twenty-one emergency responders arrived on scene from Orondo Fire, Ballard Ambulance, Douglas County Sheriff, Chelan County Sheriff, WSP and Airlift NW. The WSP is investigating the cause of the accident.
