Plan for longer than normal travel times
Information released by WSDOT
BLEWETT PASS – Following a week of work on Stevens Pass to remove hazard trees adjacent to the highway, work will shift to US-97 Blewett Pass beginning Monday, June 28. This will require flagger controlled traffic and delays of 30 minutes while a contractor for the Washington State Department of Transportation will brings down dead and diseased trees beside the highway and clears the roadway of debris.
Work will occur on US 97 from three miles north of the junction of US 97/SR 970 (milepost 153) to just south of the intersection with Ingalls Creek Rd. (milepost 176). The exact location of the work from day to day will depend on conditions in the field. Working hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and travelers over Blewett Pass should plan for longer than normal travel times while the contractor is working. Those traveling over a mountain pass next week should also prepare for holiday related increase in traffic and hot, dry weather.
Updates will be shared on the travel alert page, and on Twitter @WSDOT_East. Information on traffic, delays, closures, and ferries can also be found on the WSDOT app.
