Crews setting bridge girders for Boundary Bridge fish passage project
information released by WSDOT
The contractor for the US 97 Boundary Bridge project on Blewett Pass will be setting bridge girders this Thursday that will require flagger-controlled traffic and delays.
Currently, traffic is shifted around the work zone where the contractor is replacing a deficient culvert for a fish passage friendly bridge. On Thursday, the staging and setting of the girders will require the contractor to hold traffic for 15 to 20 minutes at a time to safely set the girders. This work is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday only.
Placing these girders is a milestone in completing the second half of the bridge. The 35 m.p.h. reduced speed zone and width restrictions remains in place 24/7 until the project is completed in late fall.
More information about this fish barrier removal work is available on the project webpage. Updates will be shared on the travel alert page, and on Twitter @WSDOT_East.
