Expect traffic delays on US Hwy. 2 on December 20

The season’s first avalanche control work on US 2 Stevens Pass is scheduled to commence on Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 7:30 a.m.

Traffic will be stopped on the west side at milepost 58 and on the east side at milepost 64 so crews can safely complete the work. Avalanche control and clean up can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete and travelers should plan for delays on US 2 Stevens Pass Wednesday morning. Avalanche control work is scheduled as needed through the season depending on conditions. Updates will be shared on the WSDOT real time travel map.
