Funding requests from community agencies to be presented

A number of community agencies and organizations will be making funding requests during today’s city council workshop starting at 4:00 pm. Also on the agenda is a special presentation that will be made by Executive Director Mike Steele of the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce.
The City has received funding requests from five organizations representing Chelan Valley Hope, Lake Chelan Food Bank, Senior Meals on Wheels, Thrive Chelan Valley and the Rotary Club of Lake Chelan. Rotary is seeking the largest amount at $50,000 in hopes of developing a glass recycling/repurposing project. If granted, the funds would be used as seed money towards the purchase of a glass pulverizing system.
