The Manson Public Library will temporarily close on Monday, May 19, 2025 for reimagining. We anticipate reopening the library in late summer.
During the closure, we encourage patrons to visit the Chelan Public Library to pick up holds and attend programs. Check out our events calendar or Facebook Page for the latest information.
Patrons who have Manson as their home library in our system will be automatically set to Chelan during the closure. You are always welcome to update your home library to Mail Order Library if preferred.
The Manson Library book drop will also be closed. Library materials can be returned to the Chelan Library or other NCW Libraries locations.
This closure is part of our Reimagining Spaces Project, our $10M investment into making our branch libraries safe, welcoming, and flexible to meet the needs of the communities we serve. A critical part of our Reimagining Spaces Project is our community engagement process that we go through with each community to gather their feedback and priorities for their local library.
Residents Share Feedback during Community Engagement Process
Last winter, Manson Librarian Cindy along with our Facilities Team including Tim Dillman, Associate Director of Community Libraries and Amanda Lawson, Facilities Manager, attended the Polar Plunge in Manson with kiosks to gather community feedback.
They hosted a stakeholder meeting with representatives from the city, fire department, parks department, and school district.
They placed kiosks outside the grocery store and visited Manson Growers and a local Latino church to gather feedback from Latino residents.
They also presented at a Parent Support meeting with the school district.

Through these meetings and presentations, they gathered feedback from over 350 community members. Their feedback directly informed the design plan for this project and included communal seating, space flexibility, and maximizing the incredible views of Lake Chelan.
We will achieve these goals and more through new flooring, paint and electrical as well as new interior shelving and furniture. The updated space will feature mobile shelving, two study pods, a self check kiosk, a children’s area with moveable furniture, and more!
This project will also include updating the library entryway for ADA accessibility, funded by two grants awarded to the Manson Public Library Board. Learn more here.
