Fully engulfed shop with two RV’s outside

A structure fire was reported along US 2 one mile north of Turtle Rock Island. The first arriving units found a fully engulfed shop with two RVs exposures on the outside of shop. Firefighters initially protected the outside RVs then put out the fire in the shop. There are no fire hydrants in the area making it necessary to haul water to the location requiring 17,000 gallons to extinguish the fire.

US Highway 2 was closed for over an hour due to smoke conditions and electrical wires.

There were nine fire apparatus and 23 firefighters responding to the fire from Orondo Fire and Wenatchee Valley Fire. There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
