information released, Chelan County file photo
The Washington State Patrol wants to remind drivers, State Route 2 between mileposts 58.50 to 66.44 on both sides of Stevens Pass, parking is prohibited between the dates of November 1 to April 1.
“When the parking lots at Stevens Pass Ski Area fill up, drivers have resorted to parking along the highway, states Trooper Jeremy Weber.” This also includes others recreating and improperly parking in “Tow Away Zones.”
This practice interferes with winter snow removal and avalanche control operations, endangers highway maintenance personnel and is hazardous to skiers and highway users. “Tow Away Zones” signs are placed along the corridor to help indicate the tow zones and gain compliance by motorist.
The Washington State Patrol will be taking appropriate enforcement in Tow Away Zones. Please see the map below showing designated parking areas at Stevens Pass Ski Area.
Travelers looking to access Stevens Pass resort should can confirm parking availability and restrictions on the resorts website.
