Much anticipated surf attraction opens May 1

Slidewaters at Lake Chelan and the new Lakeside Surf are poised to open for a full season of fun. The worldwide COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a shortened 30-day season for Slidewaters last year and also led to delays that prevented Lakeside Surf from opening for its first season.
Owners Robert and Burke Bordner issued a press release this week stating that Slidewaters will resume their normal seasonal opening on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend while Lakeside Surf will open on Saturday, May 1.

Slidewaters and Lakeside Surf have submitted their operational plans to the State Department of Health and to Chelan-Douglas Health for their review. Bordner says COVID protocols will be in place similar to those that worked successfully while they operated safely for 30 days last summer.
