Chelan Housing Trust is building two new homes for local wage earners and families

information released

It won’t be long for foundations and framing to begin for two new 3-bedroom attainable homes on 220 E Iowa St, according to Scott Meyers, Chelan Valley Housing Trust Executive Director. “We’re glad to know these homes will be completed and ready for sale by this fall,” reports Meyers. “We have a long list of local folks waiting for affordable homes.”

Meyers reports that the Chelan Valley Housing Trust also will also be breaking ground on six new townhomes on the corner of Nixon and Emerson this year. “This project will be a great compliment to Emerson Village, our five-townhome development we completed two years ago.”

“These homes are for working folks and families who earn between 80% and 120% of the area median income,” says Meyers. They’re for the folks who make our communities run…the teachers, firefighters, hospitality employees and nurses. That’s our mission.”

Meyers wanted to acknowledge all those who have contributed to the housing trust’s projects with a particular call out to Karen Feek, BL Chelan, Charlie and Debbie Guildner, Campbell’s Resort, Guy Evans, and Goodfellow Bros. The homes are being built by K & L Homes with construction financing from North Cascades Bank.
