The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a phone scam that has been targeting local school employees. An unknown person has been calling different schools within Chelan County claiming to be from the Sheriff’s Office and attempting to deceive people into giving them money.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind the public the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office will never call to solicit money. We would also like to encourage anyone who questions the validity of a phone call to take measures to confirm what they are being told before giving any money.
