CRDTF is a regional, multi-agency cooperative task force

information released

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison reports the agency has secured $150,000 in grant funding for the Columbia River Drug Task Force (CRDTF) from the Washington State Department of Commerce. This is a critical boost for the task force it leads. This substantial grant also comes at a time when funding has been significantly reduced for similar teams statewide, underscoring the importance of this financial support for regional efforts.

The CRDTF consists of members from the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Wenatchee Police Department, East Wenatchee Police Department, Washington State Department of Corrections and Homeland Security Investigations. The CRDTF has continued to focus on cooperative, investigative work that has aimed to identify, interdict, dismantle and prosecute mid- to upper-level criminal organizations engaged in illicit gang, gun, and drug activities.

These combined efforts have greatly enhanced public safety, improved community health, and fostered regional collaboration. The awarded funding will play a crucial role in sustaining and advancing these initiatives, ensuring that the quality of life our served communities expect and deserve remains upheld.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office and our regional partners remain committed to making every effort to secure external funding that supports regional programs and benefits the communities served. In light of recent funding cuts, this grant is another testament to the regions dedication of ensuring that financial constraints do not adversely affect the essential services and programs our citizens rely on. We remain “Of the People. For the People.”
