Suspect taken into custody with multiple charges

information released

Sheriff Mike Morrison reports on 2/1/2024 at approximately 6:13 am Chelan Area Deputies received a report of a vehicle prowl in progress in the area of Beebe Bridge Rd in Chelan Falls.   The reporting party said he could see someone on his surveillance camera attempting to take his vehicle.  Deputies responded to the area.

As the first deputy arrived, he did not see anyone in the vehicle in question.  However, he noticed the door of a nearby office building was wide open.  Shortly after, the deputy observed a male standing inside the office.  He contacted the male, ordered him out of the office and took him into custody.

The male was identified as Gabreal A Easterly.  Further investigation throughout the day by the deputies, confirmed Gabreal made entry into the office building located at 105 Beebe Bridge Rd unlawfully, using a metal rod on the front door. He was able to pry the door open, breaking the locking mechanism on the door. This action was seen on security footage by the owners of the building and a deputy.  Once inside, Gabreal went through the office and ultimately found a new knife still in the package in the office. Gabreal opened the package, taking the knife and would ultimately be in possession of the knife once he was placed into custody.

Additionally, Gabreal entered a jeep at the location and again can be seen on camera driving the jeep at the location. The jeep was driven to his personal vehicle (approximately 1/2 mile away) and used as a transport vehicle for some of the stolen items later recovered in his truck via search warrant. A second burglary was reported by ReRuns Variety Store later in the day and the items stolen were also recovered from the suspect’s vehicle. Two separate vehicles were entered at the 105 Beebe Bridge location, although nothing was reportedly missing from either vehicle.  Finally, while Gabreal was being searched incident to arrest, a glass smoking device with visible crystalline substance both new and burnt was observed, as well as a small bag containing a crystalline substance was located in the vehicle.

As a result, Gabreal Easterly was booked in the Chelan County Regional Justice Center and charged with Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, two counts of Vehicle Prowl 2nd Degree, Theft 3rd Degree, Malicious Mischief 3rd Degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
