Goats at Brewster to play first ever Cherry Cup football game

Well, it’s that time of the year as we head closer to fall with school now underway and with it the Fall sports season of football, volleyball, girls soccer and cross country.
Cross Country is idle this week, but will run at the Highlander Invitation meet at Shadle Park on Saturday, September 10.
Soccer will host a jamboree on Wednesday at Mountain Goat Field starting at 4 pm. In addition to the Goats, teams from Pateros and Bridgeport will also participate. The first real match for Chelan soccer will take place Friday at Montesano.
A new football tradition will begin this Friday night as Chelan plays at Brewster in the first ever Cherry Cup trophy game being sponsored by Chelan Fresh. The Goats against the Bears will kick off at 7 pm Friday in Brewster.
Defending State Champion Chelan will begin their volleyball season by hosting a three team jamboree on Saturday. Cashmere and a very strong Manson Trojan team will also be taking part. The varsity matches begin at Noon Saturday at Chelan High School while the JV/C squad matches will be played at the Community Gym. The first regular season match for Chelan will be Tuesday, September 6 at Eastmont starting at 7 pm.
