Friday’s Turn Back the Clock “Retro” Night scored wins for both the Goats and the Lady Goats against Brewster. The event was also a successful fundraiser for the Lorita Beeson Scholarship Fund.
Beeson was a graduate of the Chelan High School class of 1960. She was hired by the Chelan School District in 1974, and worked as a secretary for the high school until her death in 2002. The Memorial Fund was established by her family, friends and colleagues in order to award scholarships to CHS seniors in her memory.

Boys Game Recap: Chelan 69 – Brewster 60
Chelan 10 18 14 27 69
Brewster 12 13 12 23 60
The Chelan Mountain Goats defeated the Brewster Bears in the Historic Chelan Community Gym Friday Night. This evening retro match up featured players, coaches and cheerleaders in “throwback” attire. In front a good crowd, the Bears and the Goats went back and forth, blow by blow. Chelan was able to pull away late in the 4th quarter to pick up a non-conference win. This is the first time the Chelan Goats have defeated Brewster since 2011.
The Goats were paced by 23 points from Connor Wilson and 17 points from Quinn Stamps. Bert Mendivil also chipped in 9 points.
Coach Pearl said: “I thought we played with good energy on the defensive end for most of the night. Some guys like Cade and Gage really stepped it up and took on some tough matchups. Brewster has some talented kids and we knew we’d have to force them into contested shots to give ourselves a chance. I thought our guys did a great job blocking out, which was a huge focus going into the game. We were fortunate to play just a little better than they did tonight. Tim is a good coach and I expect them to compete for a league title this year.”

Girls Game Recap: Chelan 54 – Brewster 31
Chelan Lady Goats hosted the Bears from Brewster in a non-league matchup. Using pressure defense and an up tempo offense, the Goats jumped out to an 18-8 first quarter lead. Constant defensive pressure led to multiple turnovers from the Bears and the Lady Goats capitalized on them out scoring Brewster 16-7 in the second quarter. Chelan went into halftime leading 34-15. The trio of Matea Ivory, Booh Huddleston, and Molly Oswald made it nearly impossible for Brewster’s guards to bring the ball up the court, let alone get into their offense.
The second half Chelan outscored Brewster 20-16. The Lady Goats slowed the pace and it was apparent that many of the players were fighting illnesses. The girls are spending the weekend recovering from a long week and are anxious to get back to league play against Omak on the 18th.
