Rep. Keith Goehner, R-Dryden, officially took the oath of office and was sworn in as a member of the Washington State House of Representatives on Monday during the opening ceremonies of the 2019 Legislature.

“The opening ceremonies were very humbling. It is a great honor to serve the citizens of the 12th Legislative District,” said Goehner. “We have a lot of work to do over the next few months. However, I look forward to working with colleagues on both sides of the aisle to move this state forward.”

Goehner will be serving as the assistant ranking member on the House State Government and Tribal Relations Committee. He will also serve on the Local Government and Transportation committees.

“I am very excited about my committee assignments. Spending the last sixteen years as a Chelan County Commissioner gives me a strong perspective on local government issues. The state government committee covers a lot of issues we have dealt with at the local level – state agency rulemaking, performance audits and elections,” said Goehner. “My third committee assignment is very important to our region. Transportation and traffic relief are critical as we move forward and North Central Washington continues to grow.”

Goehner encourages constituents to stay in touch during the legislative session with questions or concerns. He can be reached at his legislative office at (360) 786-7954 or keith.goehner@leg.wa.gov.

The 105-day 2019 legislative session runs through April 28.
