If you still haven’t returned your Primary ballot you have until 8 o’clock tonight to do so. Locally, outside ballot drop boxes are located in Chelan behind City Hall and in Manson at the Public Library.
Local elections on the ballot include a levy proposition for Manson based Chelan County Fire District 5. The district is seeking the levy increase to generate additional revenue to cover the costs of training and equipment replacement.
On the candidate front, the most contested race is for Chelan County Commissioner Position 3. Candidates include Brad Hawkins, Brandt Cappell, Flint Hartwig, and Chris Willoughby.
In District 12 Legislative races, Position 1 has Heather Koellen, Brian Burnett and Jennifer Bumpus on the ballot. Position 2 has incumbent Mike Steele and Daniel Scott as the only two on the ballot while Keith Goehner and Jim Mayhew are running for District 12 State Senator. If a race is contested, the top two vote recipients move forward to the General Election in November.
Preliminary results will start to be posted by about 8:30 p.m. on the Chelan County elections website.
